Funky Soul and Boogie-Dub specialists Tropical Downbeat Orchestra have been lighting up dance floors across the country for over 15 years.

Think funk 45’s with that soul singing sister, winding up her hips with a band of brothers providing the deep fried beats and abstract cuts. A unique blend of musicians, an equally unique sound.

Based in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, collectively TDO is a fun loving family who share a passion for music. Lead vocalist Margot Pierard lets her voice do the work and her hips do the shaking, at times silky smooth, others raw and commanding. She works the band with her every delivery.

Margot Pierard - Vocals
Kurt Yates - Guitar
Matt Mear - Trumpet
Willie Devine - Keys
Dean Tinning - Drums
Wayne Edward - Bass
Anton Wuts - Saxophones

Door open at 6.30pm
